The Third one day Vendor Meet titled " Strengthening Partnership For National Growth" was held on Januray 6, 2012 at MIDHANI.

This is an annual event which serves as a platform for Midhani as well as our esteemed vendors for sharing of ideas and future plans enabling building up of a strong relationship for the future. Representatives from 65 companies have participated in the Vendor Meet. The Guests of Honour for the Vendor Meet were Mr Kamlesh Bhadani, CEO, SE Forge Ltd., Vadodara and Mr VVS Rama Rao, Dy Chief Executive, NFC,Hyderabad.

A detailed presentation was made to the participants regarding the “e-Procurement” initiatives taken by Midhani. Representatives of the Vendors who attended were informed about the requirements of obtaining of a Digital Signature Certificate and registration on the “e-tenders” portal of Midhani. Facility for online registration of the Vendors was also informed to the participants

The details of the augmentation of the facilities at Midhani as well as future plans were presented to the participants followed by an interactive session.

The Eighth one day Customer Meet titled " Strengthening Partnerships" was held on November 8, 2011 at MIDHANI.

Inaugurating the session Vice-Admiral DSP Verma, Director General of ATVP, a naval establishment said MIDHANI should focus on Power sector which is coming up with natural resources for their special steel requirements . Mr Verma mentioned Midhani's expansion and modernisation have been scientifically taken up based on customer feedback, For the past decade, the special materials and products produced by the publlic sector undertaking are meeting the stringent demands of the strategic sectors.

" We call our customers as partners since the partnership is not just in terms of monetry returns but our partnership is one of technology partnership, strategic partnership and financial partnership said Mr M Narayana Rao, Chairman & Managing Diirector, Midhani while addressing the customers.

Market Driven Company

Midhani is now moving from a technology-driven, planning -driven company to a market-driven company and is also investing about 50 percent of its reserves on R&D to eventually supply final products rather than mill forms.

Shri VS Krishnamurthy, Director (Finance) very succinctly explained the diversified approach Midhani undertook for growth and sustenance in the areas of indigenization of materials, expanded capacities and efforts towards timely delivery.  Customers concerns and customers feed back to Midhani is of utmost importance and there is a relationship between customers and Midhani said Dr. D.K. Likhi, Director (Production & Marketing) while addressing the customers.  He said that by next year it is proposed to have formal structured feed back as well as informal to meet and act upon the customers concerns

Women have an eye for precision and discipline that enables them in  manufacturing value added product like Fasteners said Shri MM Pallam Raju, Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri, Government of India after Laying the foundation stone for Aerospace quality Fasteners plant to be run exclusively by women on commercial scale at Midhani, on June 25, 2011. Shri Pallam Raju further said that Midhani is playing a significant role  in  manufacturing of critical Special Materials and stressed the need  to integrate all the facilities and resources  available to achieve self sufficiency in the country.  He also appreciated the concept of empowering women and using their skills, knowledge and potential in running the Fasteners plant from start to finish.

There is an incredible market potential for fasteners of various special alloys consequent to the growth of aerospace industry and indigenization of these products will certainly lead to considerable foreign exchange saving for the country said Shri M Narayana Rao , Chairman & Managing Director , MIDHANI while  welcoming the Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri, top officials of various Defence units and Midhanians.

Midhani has already demonstrated its capability in manufacturing  Fasteners of Superalloys, Titanium alloys and special steels in large quantities and is supplying the same to Navy, ISRO and DRDO.  The fasteners include Bolts, Rivets, Washers, Inserts & Studs, Screws, Nuts, Pins etc catering to all the combinations of fastener configuration and geometries

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited, a Mini Ratna Defence enterprise has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a Maharatna Company for utilizing their infrastructure facilities with Midhani’s  technological and technical expertise to augment production capacity to meet the special material requirements of our strategic customers on June 16, 2011 at New Delhi

Midhani has achieved a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24% over  last 5 years. Several deliverable initiatives taken in last few years towards establishing synergic linkage of internal expertise with cost effective external resources  has resulted in such an impressive performance. In addition Midhani has commenced expansion and upgradation of facilities. However to meet the ever growing demands for special materials for strategic applications of national importance, it  became pertinent for Midhani to enter into a strategic alliance with SAIL which houses some of the best equipment that could be utilized by us and this certainly would lead to a win- win situation for both the organizations, said Shri M Narayana Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, Midhani while speaking on the ocassion. Henceforth, both the organizations will jointly be making efforts to Serve the Nation, said Shri Rao.

This year Shri Dina Nath Bhatia General Manager (Production) from Midhani has been awarded the " HINDUSTAN ZINC GOLD MEDAL " for his contribution in the development of Titanium processing for Non Ferrous Metallurgical Industries

Shri DN Bhatia has joined Midhani in its initial days and has been working in the development of Titanium . He has also won a number of other awards including the Defence Ministers award. He is presently the General Manager of Production at Midhani.
